Room at the Table: ABC journey video resource

A Bible-based video resource for disability inclusion in church

Room at the Table is a new, Bible‑based video resource and study guide from Christian disability charity Through the Roof, created to help churches grow along the ABC journey of disability inclusion: Access, Belonging, Commission.

Designed for UK churches and Roofbreaker disability champions, this resource supports congregations exploring disability inclusion in church — whether you are just starting out or already on the journey.

Disability inclusion in church: the ABC journey

'Room at the Table' introduces the ABC journey of disability inclusion, a framework that Through the Roof uses across all its work to support disabled people to be fully involved in God’s Kingdom.

Through Scripture, lived experience, and reflective discussion, churches are invited to explore three vital outcomes:

Access Everyone knowing Jesus — with disabled people fully welcomed into Christian life.
Belonging All growing together as the family of God — flourishing in community and relationship.
Commission Everyone reflecting the character of Jesus — with disabled people making disciples, to the glory of God.

Why Through the Roof created this resource

Video filming in a church: a woman in a wooden chair interviews a man in a wheelchair, while a cameraman records itAt Through the Roof, we exist to see disabled people included, valued, and equipped as disciples of Jesus.

By sharing the ABC journey through this video resource, we want to amplify the voices of disabled Christians and equip churches with:

    • Biblically grounded teaching on disability inclusion
    • Honest stories rooted in lived experience
    • A shared language for disability inclusion in church life.

Through the Roof has now adopted the ABC journey model to ensure all our activities contribute to meaningful inclusion across the Church.
